Castle Danger Paddle Industrial Organized into two partsThe city of Castle Danger along the shoreline of Lake Superior was founded by three Norwegian fishermen. The origin of the name is unknown, although it might have come from the rocky cliffs on the shore that resemble a castle; from a boat named Castle that grounded nearby, or from the Walter Scott novel Castle Dangerous. No matter the reason behind the city name, we're drawn to Castle Danger as a mile marker toward the Boundary Waters Canoe Area
