Herr Kretz 2021 L'étranger In this vintageHerr Kretz is the serious end of what Andi Mann makes, a Riesling off his best Eckelsheim parcels bottled only when the vintage justifies it. Organic fruit, wild yeast fermentation, and as little done in the cellar as he can manage, on the principle that texture and balance arrive on their own if you let them. The 2021 is the cooler, tighter vintage, and it behaves accordingly: subtle fruit, savoury undertones and a grounded, mineral core, unfolding
