My evaluation comes from my own biases, which boil down to: play the sort of cards and decks that lets everyone at the table have a chance to breathe, play Commander, and have at least a decent chance to do the thing that their deck wants to do

Early on the Crypt was even better, because abilities of artifacts didn't work when they were tapped

And for the current Final Fantasy spoiler season, I have picked my personal flavor win favorites that show not just clever card design, but effects and abilities that manage to almost perfectly represent the thing that the card represents

Random effects arent too reliable, but all three of these effects are valuable, especially in a deck that cares about counters
