After a wild ferment
The search is for a fresh rosé with little body
and the nose gives of notes of cherry and spices
This is far from an entry-level bottling
A showcase of the estate
Guido Porro Vigna Lazzairasco, Barolo DOCG, Italy 2019 Chateau Puygueraud After a wild fermentThis is a superb wine, tasted immediately after the more precocious, younger vine, redder fruited S. Caterina. Full bodied as any Barolo is, but savory, taut and detailed, which only the best examples are. Extreme focus on pithy, beautifully shaped chamois tannins. Darker cherry, thyme, leather, tapenade and forestry notes of spruce, as well as more exotic hints of sandalwood, with a campfire allure lingering long. This is an excellent showing.
