Midnight in west Cork and a faint milky way can be seen behind the old mill and the mine in Allihies on the end of the Beara peninsula

This photograph was taken at dawn with the water swirling gently around the basalt columns which interlock to form the "causeway"

The water perfectly flat calm under a setting moon

the lighthouse is on the left side although is head to see

Sunset From Underneath The Oldhead Of Kinsale waves which gives a lovely lightThere are a few caves under the Oldhead, with half a dozen running the whole way through side to the other, It is possible to go inside them on a calm day and in the winter on a low tide watch the sunset. This is a photo from one of those lucky days.
