Concentric Daniela Marin Edition of 10Anne Russinof often does paintings on paper to loosen up for the larger canvas works. The point is to free her hand. For her, everything begins with color. She begins a painting by applying color in lyrical, gestural marks. The marks coalesce into a structure, a loose grid. Anne Russinof is inspired by things she sees: a visceral reaction to manifest a feeling physically through paint. That initial visual stimulus is often related to color.
