Count down at St Andrew's Halls (Print 2300318) Office chemical worksJazz legend Count Basie brought his orchestra to Glasgow's St Andrew's Halls in 1957. He played there again in 1959. Sadly, on his next visit, in 1962, the Halls, with their world class acoustics, were no more, having been destroyed in a fire earlier in the year. In 1962, he played the Odeon, in Renfield Street. On the bill with him that time, was Jimmy Logan's singing half sister, the supremely talented Annie Ross, performing with vocal trio Lambert,
